Qualification & Experience: 
  • Completed MBBS from the Bangalore Medical College (BMC) during the year 1981 and MD in Forensic Medicine from the same college during 1986.
  • He started his career as Lecturer in Karnataka Medical College (KMC), Hubli during October 1987.
  • He was being promoted as Assistant Professor in KMC during April 1991 and as Associate Professor during January 1995.
  • He became Professor of Forensic Medicine in KMC during February 1999.
  • During June 2003, he became the Professor & HOD in Bangalore Medical College & Research Institute.
  • He also worked as Medical Superintendent of BMC&RI for a short term of six months during February to August 2014.
  • During August 2014, he was selected by the Appointments Committee to take over as the Dean & Director of Bangalore Medical College.
  • He was retired from services during February 2017.
  • He joined the Sambhram Institute of Medical Sciences & Research as Dean on 02nd June 2017.
Other Information: 
  • Winner of Kempegowda Award 2006
  • Chosen by Medical Council of India to be member:
    • To develop a new curriculum for under graduate course
    • To develop a new curriculum for post graduate course in Forensic Medicine
    • To develop a curriculum for the new proposed post graduate course in family medicine.
  • Invited by Ministry of Health, Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to lay road map to start the medico legal facilities, establish development of Forensic Medicine and to strengthen the teaching programme at College of Health Sciences, Mekella University, Ethiopia.
  • Advisor to appropriate authority – organ transplantation, Government of Karnataka.
  • Personally involved in cadaver organ transplantation programme. Instrumental in saving more than 200 lives.
  • Immediate past President of South India Medico Legal Association.
Message from Dean/Principal:

Sambhram Institute of Medical Sciences & Research is situated at Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), in a landlocked district, Kolar is the eastern gateway of Karnataka. It is famous for its erstwhile Kolar Gold Mines, cool hill stations, with fortresses and lofty temples.
